English Grammar : THE USE OF TENSE IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF SENTENCES

যদি তুমি আমার আগের article গুলি ( auxiliary & model auxiliary verbs ) পড়ে থাক তাহলে অবশ্যই জানবে যে প্রতিটি উদাহরণকে কে চার (4) ধরনের SENTENCES করতে হবে।

যথা :
1. AFFIRMATIVE বা হ্যাঁ-বোধক
2. NEGATIVE বা না-বোধক
3. INTERROGATIVE বা প্রশ্ন-বোধক
4. NEGATIVE INTERROGATIVE বা না-প্রশ্নবোধক


PRESENT TENSE


1. Present Indefinite Tense

●. ছেলেটি গান করে। (AFFIRMATIVE)
=> The boy sings.
●. ছেলেটি গান করে না। (NEGATIVE)
=> The boy does not sing.
●. ছেলেটি কি গান করে ? (INTERROGATIVE)
=> Does the boy sing ?
●. ছেলেটি কি গান করে না ? (NEGATIVE INTERROGATIVE)
=> Does not the boy sing ?


NEGATIVE বাক্যটি লক্ষ্য করো । হয়তো ভাবছ "does" কোথা থেকে এলো।
আমি আগেই বলেছি "not" সবসময় auxiliary verbs এর পরেই বসে। Present Indefinite Tense এর auxiliary verbs হল "do" এবং "does"।

NOTE : "I" এবং "YOU" বাদ দিয়ে যদি subject একটি হয় তাহলে does বসবে , নইলে do বসে। ( "I" এবং "YOU" এর পরে do বসে। )

INTERROGATIVE বা প্রশ্ন-বোধক এবং NEGATIVE INTERROGATIVE বা না-প্রশ্নবোধক sentence কিভাবে গঠন করতে হয় আমি আগের article এ details এ আলোচনা করেছি। দেখবার জন্য click করো। (auxiliary verbs )


আরো কিছু উদাহরণ তুলে ধরা হল।

●. কুকুরটি রাত্রে ডাকে।
=> The dog barks at night.
●. কুকুরটি রাত্রে ডাকে না ।
=> The dog does not bark at night.
●. কুকুরটি কি রাত্রে ডাকে ?
=> Does the dog bark at night ?
●. কুকুরটি কি রাত্রে ডাকে না ?
=> Does not the dog bark at night ?


●. মেয়েগুলি খেলা করে।
=> The girls play.
●. মেয়েগুলি খেলা করে না।
=> The girls do not play.
●. মেয়েগুলি কি খেলা করে ?
=> Do the girls play ?
●. মেয়েগুলি কি খেলা করে না ?
=> Do the girls not play ?


2.Present Continuous Tense 



●. মেয়েগুলি খেলা করছে।
=> The girls are playing.
●. মেয়েগুলি খেলা করছে না।
=> The girls are not playing.
●. মেয়েগুলি কি খেলা করছে ?
=> Are the girls playing ?
●. মেয়েগুলি কি খেলা করছে না ?
=> Are the girls not playing ?

●. রতন হাটছে।
=> Ratan is walking.
●. রতন হাটছে না।
=> Ratan is not walking.
●. রতন কি হাটছে ?
=> Is Ratan walking ?
●. রতন কি হাটছে না ?
=> Is not Ratan walking ?

●. তুমি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়ছ।
=> You are reading this article.
●. তুমি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়ছ না।
=> You are not reading this article.
●. তুমি কি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়ছ ?
=> Are you reading this article ?
●. তুমি কি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়ছ না ?
=> Are you not reading this article ?

●. ছাত্ররা স্কুলে যাচ্ছে।
=> The students are going to school.
●. ছাত্ররা স্কুলে যাচ্ছে না।
=> The students are not going to school.
●. ছাত্ররা কি স্কুলে যাচ্ছে ?
=> Are the students going to school ?
●. ছাত্ররা কি স্কুলে যাচ্ছে না ?
=> Are the students not going to school ?



3.Present Perfect Tense


●. তুমি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়েছ/পড়িয়াছো।
=> You have read this article.
●. তুমি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়োনি।
=> You have not read this article.
●. তুমি কি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়েছ/পড়িয়াছো ?
=> Have you read this article ?
●. তুমি কি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়োনি ?
=> Have you not read this article ?

●. ছাত্ররা গিয়েছে।
=> The students have gone.
●. ছাত্ররা যায়নি।
=> The students have not gone.
●. ছাত্ররা কি গিয়েছে ?
=> Have the students gone ?
●. ছাত্ররা কি স্কুলে গিয়েছে না ?
=> Have the students not gone ?

●. আমি এই ওয়েবসাইটটি পছন্দ করেছি/করিয়াছি।
=> I have chosen this website.
●. আমি এই ওয়েবসাইটটি পছন্দ করিয়াছি না।
=> I have not chosen this website.
●. আমি কি এই ওয়েবসাইটটি পছন্দ করেছি/করিয়াছি ?
=> Have I chosen this website ?
●. আমি কি এই ওয়েবসাইটটি পছন্দ করিয়াছি না ?
=> Have I not chosen this website ?



4. Present Perfect Continuous Tense

●. আমি দুই ঘণ্টা ধরে এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়তেছি।
=> I have been reading this article for two hours.
●. আমি দুই ঘণ্টা ধরে এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়তেছি না।
=> I have not been reading this article for two hours.
●. আমি কি দুই ঘণ্টা ধরে এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়তেছি ?
=> Have I been reading this article for two hours ?
●. আমি কি দুই ঘণ্টা ধরে এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়তেছি না ?
=> Have I not been reading this article for two hours ?





1.Past Indefinite Tense

●. সে আমাকে জাগিয়েছিল।
=> He awaked me.
●. সে আমাকে জাগায়নি/জাগিয়েছিল না।
=> He did not awake me.
●. সে কি আমাকে জাগিয়েছিল ?
=> Did he awake me ?
●. সে কি আমাকে জাগিয়েছিল না ?
=> Did he not awake me ?

Present Indefinite Tense এর ক্ষেত্রে যেমন দুটি auxiliary verbs ( 'do' & 'does' ) আনতে হয়েছিল তেমনি past Indefinite Tense এর ক্ষেত্রেও auxiliary verb , "did" কে আনতে হয়।

NOTE : "did" বসার পর Verb 2 সবসময় verb 1 হবে।

●. তারা গাছের নীচে বসেছিল।
=> They sat under the tree.
●. তারা গাছের নীচে বসেছিল না।
=> They did not sit under the tree.
●. তারা কি গাছের নীচে বসেছিল ?
=> Did they sit under the tree ?
●. তারা কি গাছের নীচে বসেছিল না ?
=> Did they not sit under the tree ?


2.Past Continuous Tense

●. তুমি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়িতেছিলে।
=> You were reading this article.
●. তুমি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়িতেছিলে না।
=> You were not reading this article.
●. তুমি কি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়িতেছিলে ?
=> Were you reading this article ?
●. তুমি কি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়িতেছিলে না ?
=> Were you not reading this article ?


●. সুনিল একটি নতুন গল্প লিখিতেছিল।
=> Sunil was writing a new story.
●. সুনিল একটি নতুন গল্প লিখিতেছিল না।
=> Sunil was not writing a new story.
●. সুনিল কি একটি নতুন গল্প লিখিতেছিল ?
=> Was Sunil writing a new story ?
●. সুনিল কি একটি নতুন গল্প লিখিতেছিল না ?
=> Was not Sunil writing a new story ?



3. Past Perfect Tense

●. ডাক্তার আসিবার পূর্বে রোগীটি মারা গিয়েছিল।
=> The patient had died before the doctor came.
●. ডাক্তার আসিবার পূর্বে রোগীটি মারা গিয়েছিল না।
=> The patient had not died before the doctor came.
●. ডাক্তার আসিবার পূর্বে কি রোগীটি মারা গিয়েছিল ?
=> Had the patient died before the doctor came. ?
●. ডাক্তার আসিবার পূর্বে কি রোগীটি মারা গিয়েছিল না ?
=> Had not the patient died before the doctor came ?



4. Past Perfect Continuous Tense

●. ছেলেটি সকাল নটা থেকে ফুটবল খেলিতেছিল।
=> The boy had been playing football from 9 am.
●. ছেলেটি সকাল নটা থেকে ফুটবল খেলিতেছিল না ।
=> The boy had not been playing football from 9 am.
●. ছেলেটি কি সকাল নটা থেকে ফুটবল খেলিতেছিল ?
=> Had the boy been playing football from 9 am ?
●. ছেলেটি কি সকাল নটা থেকে ফুটবল খেলিতেছিল না ?
=> Had not the boy been playing football from 9 am ?



1.Future Indefinite Tense

●. তুমি আজ স্কুলে যাবে।
=> You will go to school today.
●. তুমি আজ স্কুলে যাবে না।
=> You will not go to school today.
●. তুমি কি আজ স্কুলে যাবে ?
=> Will you go to school today ?
●. তুমি কি আজ স্কুলে যাবে না ?
=> Will you not go to school today ?


●. আমি ভবিষ্যতে একটি টাইম মেশিন বানাব।
=> I will make a time machine in future.
●. আমি ভবিষ্যতে একটি টাইম মেশিন বানাব না।
=> I will not make a time machine in future.
●. আমি কি ভবিষ্যতে একটি টাইম মেশিন বানাব ?
=> Will I make a time machine in future ?
●. আমি কি ভবিষ্যতে একটি টাইম মেশিন বানাব না ?
=> Will I not make a time machine in future ?


2.Future Continuous Tense

●. তুমি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়তে থাকিবে।
=> You will be reading this article.
●. তুমি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়তে থাকিবে না ।
=> You will not be reading this article.
●. তুমি কি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়তে থাকিবে ?
=> Will you be reading this article ?
●. তুমি কি এই প্রবন্ধটি পড়তে থাকিবে না ?
=> Will you not be reading this article ?


●. তুমি বাড়িতে থাকিবে।
=> You will be staying in the house.
●. তুমি বাড়িতে থাকিবে না ।
=> You will not be staying in the house.
●. তুমি কি বাড়িতে থাকিবে ?
=> Will you be staying in the house ?
●. তুমি কি বাড়িতে থাকিবে না ?
=> Will you not be staying in the house ?


3. Future Perfect Tense

●. বাবা আসিবার পূর্বে আমি বইটি পড়িয়া থাকিব।
=> I shall have finished reading the book before father come.
●. বাবা আসিবার পূর্বে আমি বইটি পড়িয়া থাকিব না ।
=> I shall not have finished reading the book before father come.
●. বাবা আসিবার পূর্বে কি আমি বইটি পড়িয়া থাকিব ?
=> Shall I have finished reading the book before father come ?
●. বাবা আসিবার পূর্বে আমি কি বইটি পড়িয়া থাকিব না ?
=> Shall I not have finished reading the book before father come ?



●. কোরোনা ভাইরাস যাওয়ার আগে তুমি এই ওয়েবসাইটের সব প্রবন্ধগুলি পড়িবে।
=> You will have read all the articles on this website before the Coronavirus goes.

●. কোরোনা ভাইরাস যাওয়ার আগে তুমি এই ওয়েবসাইটের সব প্রবন্ধগুলি পড়িবে না ।
=> You will not have read all the articles on this website before the Coronavirus goes.

●. কোরোনা ভাইরাস যাওয়ার আগে তুমি কি এই ওয়েবসাইটের সব প্রবন্ধগুলি পড়িবে ?
=> Will you have read all the articles on this website before the Coronavirus goes ?

●. কোরোনা ভাইরাস যাওয়ার আগে তুমি কি এই ওয়েবসাইটের সব প্রবন্ধগুলি পড়িবে না ?
=> Will you not have read all the articles on this website before the Coronavirus goes ?


4.Future Perfect Continuous Tense


●. আমি তোমাকে বোঝাতেই থাকিব যতক্ষণ না তুমি বুঝতে পার।
=> I shall have been teaching you until you understand.



●. আমি কি তোমাকে বোঝাতেই থাকিব যতক্ষণ না তুমি বুঝতে পার ?
=> Shall I have been teaching you until you understand ?
